2011 Anglo-Albanian History Day: Parmour House
On Saturday 24th September an Anglo-Albanian History Day was held at Parmoor House,
to mark the 70th anniversary of the arrival of King Zog and Queen Geraldine at
Parmoor House in September 1941.
This was attended by about 50 people who attended a series of five talks on matter of
Anglo-Albanian history. The event was attended by many people with connections to Albania, including relatives of King Zog, and descendants of the Bible Society linguist Alexander Thomson, and descendants of the British Gendarmerie officers E.C. de Renzy-Martin
and D.R. Oakley-Hill.
The day also included the book launch of the Albanian translation of
"A Royal Exile" by Neil Rees, translated by Prof Xhevat Lloshi.
